When I decided the kids were old enough and I really wanted to make more of a career out of my painting, I remember the self-doubt came a split-second later. How on earth could I make up for lost time, or keep up with people who didn't have kids, who could do this full-time? How on earth could I still be a present, attentive, mom?

Those aren’t concerns anymore. Looking back, I can see where I overcame each question and insecurity. It all came along the way. A little here and a little there, and I’m SO glad I never gave up on the dream.
