This triptych of the local landscape was such a beautiful addition to this room. I love how there are views of mountains and trees out of the windows, the doors to the backyard, and on this wall. For reference, this triptych is 60” x 105” overall.

Interested in a commission? Here’s how it works-

First off, commissions are such a beautiful way to beautify and personalize your home, so bravo for considering it! Here are the steps we would work through together to make that vision come to life.

Start with size. If you know where you want this to go, then the first thing to decide on is the size. My panels and frames are custom made each time, so any dimensions are fine. To help you decide, I recommend using little pieces of blue painter’s tape to mark the corners of how big you think you’d want the painting to be. A good rule of thumb if it’s going above a mantle or table, is to have it be about 2/3 the size of the mantle. Then, when you have the size you like, take the measurements from there.

Bid. With the measurements ready, I can send you a bid for the painting, which includes the custom wood panel and wood float frame (both built by a local, Portland craftsman). It’s a formula I use based on size, so you can decide to change measurements if needed, or approve the bid. Once the bid is approved, I send that information to my guy to start building, and collect a down payment (typically 50%).

Inspo pics + study. Next is the part you’ve probably already been thinking about—what you’d like to have painted! We talk about inspiration pictures, colors, etc, Often, this also means I will do a color study at this point, to see if we are on the same page for the composition, colors, overall vibe, etc.

Final painting! Once we both like the study, I get to work on the final piece. I try to take process photos along the way so you can see it evolve, and then will show you the final piece when it’s ready. If it’s looking right to you too, then once it’s dry I’ll get it mounted in the frame and we’re there! You can come pick up your piece (or however we’ve arranged to get it to you) and I’ll collect the remaining 50% then.

**As you can imagine, the process can take some time. This is a custom piece just for you and your home, so it’s not about the rush, but getting something that will be a treasure in your home. I try to only book one year’s worth of commissions at a time, so if you’re on my wait list, it should be done within the year or sooner. I do appreciate your flexibility, as I’m a mother and a one-woman show, but I do believe you’ll be happy with the outcome.

Do you want me to let you know when I open my next round of commissions?
