Q: What materials do you use?

  • I paint with oil paints + cold wax medium, which gives the paint a beautiful, velvet-ty matte finish. I do not use paintbrushes (except to sign them sometimes), and instead I use palette knives and sculpture materials to apply and scrape the paint. I usually paint on wood panels that are custom built for me by a local craftsman in Portland, who also builds me my lovely float frames.

Q: Where can I see your work in person?

  • I will send emails when I have live events or home shows coming up, so that’s always a good way to see my work in person (you can join my list here). I also have work at The Grove in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and you are of course always welcome to schedule a time to come to my home studio.

Q: May I use an image of your artwork or of your artwork in my home on my social media?

  • Absolutely! I only ask for credit - please tag me in your post or stories with “@lisajensen.art” (I’m honored to be part of your beautiful home!)

Q: I’m an interior designer- do you work with designers for custom pieces and projects?

  • I LOVE working with designers! If you like my style and it would be a good fit for a client (private or commercial), please reach out with your ideas. Interior Design is my second great love :)

Do you accept returns?

  • If there is damage to your print or small original order, for sure reach out to me right away and we’ll get it taken care of. I want you to be happy with your purchase! Commissions and most original pieces are final sales once they are picked up and in your care.

Q: Who actually owns the painting?

  • I retain all rights to all artwork I create.  This includes the rights to the image of sold & commissioned original paintings.   I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create unless the collector has purchased the full or partial rights to the artwork (this is in addition to purchasing the original).  If you are interested in purchasing full or partial rights to your painting so that it will not be made into a print, I am happy to discuss that if you would like!

  • The Collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission. So, if you’d like to use an image of a painting you commissioned for a Christmas card, for example, (ps, what a lovely idea!) please just reach out to me first.
