That time of year, just before the snow, when the skies are a thick, muddy white, the mountains and scrub oak turn shades of lavender and the tired fields of fall are a golden straw. It was a favorite view of mine as I traveled the back roads of Utah one fall, and seeing it again always makes me want to bundle up and have something warm to sip.
